• Original Size Detecting Sensors are provided for detecting the size of the original.

11-1.

Original Size Detecting Method

• The Original Size Detecting Sensors work on a principle that the intensity of light 

reflected off the original varies with different distances.

• Light emitted by the LED of each sensor is reflected off the surface of the original.  When 

the photoreceiver of the sensor receives light of a given intensity level or higher, the 
copier then determines that there is an original on the Original Glass.
