ADJUSTING THE DEPTH OF THE MOTOR
1.
Make sure that the composite shaft is able to slide up and rotate freely.
On motors so equipped, it may be necessary to adjust the tension on the hinged
cover knob. If this knob is set too tight, it can interfere with depth adjustment
and with steering.
2.
Firmly grasp the shaft or control head and hold it steady.
3.
Loosen the depth collar knob until the collar slides freely.
4.
Raise or lower the motor to the desired depth. Tighten the knob(s) to secure
the collar and motor in place.
NOTE:
When setting the depth be sure the top of the motor is submerged at least
12" to avoid churning or agitation of surface water. The propeller must be completely
submerged. Never operate the motor when it is out of the water.
