Connecting the Cables

Connecting the Interface Cable

Connect the printer to the computer with an appropriate interface cable.

Two types of interface cables are available. Select an interface cable according to your

computer and the output software.

•

Turn off the power switch of the printer when connecting the inter-

face cable.

IEEE 1394 Interface is Used

Use an IEEE 1394 interface cable to connect the computer and the printer if your computer

has an IEEE1394 interface.

•

The RIP used must be applicable to IEEE 1394.

•

Both IEEE 1394 connectors are available.

•

The computer is not provided with an IEEE 1394 board, contact your

nearest RIP provider or MIMAKI sales office.

IEEE 1284 Interface is Used

Use an IEEE 1284 interface cable to connect the computer and the printer. In this case,

however, the data transmission speed decreases.
