Remove the doctor and clean any
adhesive, dirty, or other contaminants
using kerosene (diesel oil) and a waste
cloth.
Applying Adhesive
The following items are required for applying adhesive.
• Items to be used
Doctor, gloves
Vinyl tape of 2 mm width
Adhesive (Polixresin SX 1L) (sold separately)

(MENU)
in LOCAL.
• MAINTENANCE MENU will be displayed.

Press
to select “BELT
ADHESIVE”, and press the
key
• The belt adhesive confirmation screen will be
displayed.

Press
to select "Applying
Adhesive", and press the
key.

Once the message "Remove Media" has
been displayed, confirm that there is no
fabric on the feeding belt and press the
key.

Once the message "Raise the Pressure
Roller" has been displayed, raise the back
pressure roller and then press the
key.
• Genuine Mimaki adhesive is a solvent-type
adhesive. Therefore, be sure to wear a protective
mask designed for use around organic solvents,
goggles, and gloves before reapplying adhesive.
• Be sure set up ventilation equipment when
applying adhesive in rooms with poor ventilation or
in airtight rooms.
• When using adhesive, please follow the
Ordinance on the Prevention of Organic Solvent
Poisoning. In addition, when reapplying adhesive,
such work should be conducted by someone who
completed the skill training course for operation
chief of organic solvent or by persons selected by
them.
• As a fire is strictly prohibited at the time of
repainting adhesive, make sure to turn off the
power of circumjacent devices (such as a heater).
In addition, please perform ventilation by all
means.
• When using commercial adhesive, be sure to
check the compatibility of the solvent component
with the material of the belt of this machine. In this
case, contact your dealer or nearest Mimaki sales
office.
• Be careful not to allow adhesive to adhere to the
contact area of the belt correction unit on the right
side of the front panel and around the
φ
6 hole.
Adhesive may disturb normal operation of the
device.
• Avoid the stack coating of the adhesive as much
as possible because it may cause a feed error.
• A rough indication of the exchange period of the
adhesive is two weeks. (it varies according to the
use situation and a type of the media.)
