Chapter 4 Maintenance
Enabling or disabling nozzle recov-
ery during a test print
To enable the nozzle recovery function during a test print
(
P.2-24), turn the following settings “ON”, and register
the numbers of the nozzles for recovery in “Nozzle
Recovery Function” on P.4-14.

Automatic Maintenance
Function
To use this machine comfortably, you can set various
maintenances to be performed automatically.
Here, set performing intervals of various automatic
maintenances.
You can prevent troubles such as ink clogging by
performing automatic maintenance periodically (automatic
maintenance function).
For the auto maintenance functions, the following items
can be set:
Setting the Refreshing Intervals
The interval between each operation of ejecting a small
amount of ink from the nozzles to prevent nozzle clogging
is set.

• MAINTENANCE MENU will be displayed.

to select “AUTO
MAINTENANCE”, and press the
key.

• “REFRESH” will be selected.

to set the refreshing
interval, and press the
key.

Set value
: The set value will differ according to
the ink type being used.

Press the
key several times to
end the setting.
• When you perform maintenance manually, after
manual maintenance is completed and when time
set with the automatic maintenance function has
passed, maintenance starts automatically.
• If using the Automatic Maintenance Function,
make sure that the maintenance washing liquid is
set. If the maintenance washing liquid is not set,
tube washing operation will not be regularly
conducted and the passage could be clogged.

The interval between each refreshing
operation is set.
PUMP TUBE
CLEANING
The activation interval for tube washing is set.
CLEANING
(Interval)
The interval between each cleaning operation
is set.
CLEANING (Type) The cleaning type is set.
NOZZLE WASH
Setting for the action can not be changed.
• If the “Check waste ink” warning message is
displayed, the operation set in the auto
maintenance function is not carried out. Perform
the operations of P.4-19 “Replace the waste ink
tank with another” if required.
• When the power switch on the front of the machine
is turned off, check the waste ink tank.
