Cleaning the wiper and ink caps [CARRIAGE OUT]

Cleaning the wiper and ink caps [CARRIAGE OUT]

The ink caps prevent the nozzles in the heads from drying and thus being clogged.
The wiper wipes off the ink adhering to the surface of nozzles.
As the printer is used, the wiper and ink caps gradually become stained with ink and dust.
If nozzle missing cannot be corrected even after executing the CLEANING function

(Refer to ?If the

printed pattern is abnormal (Cleaning) (p.3-46)? )

, use Cleaning kit and cotton swab.

You are recommend to perform cleaning frequently in order to maintain a high image quality and keep the
printer in good condition.

STEPS:

1

Make sure that the printer is in LOCAL mode.

If it is in REMOTE mode, press the [REMOTE] key.

2

Press the [ST.MAINT] key and press the [ENTER] key.

When [CARRIAGE OUT] is displayed, press the [ENTER] key. Then the carriage moves to above the platen.

Tools necessary for cleaning.

When solvent ink is used.

When sublimation transfer ink is used.

Cleaning solution (SPC-0369)

Goggle

When cleaning the ink station or heads, be sure to wear the supplied goggle

and gloves. If you do not use the goggle, you may get ink in your eyes.



Do not move the carriage out of the capping station by hand.

Follow the following procedure to move the carriage.



For cleaning, we recommend the use of the clean stick. If using cotton swab,

remaining lint of the cotton swab may cause printing failure.
