Pollution Degree
Description
The micro-environmental pollution levels used to determine clearances or creepage
distances can be classified into 4 levels.
Pollution degree 1: no pollution or only dry non-conductive pollution;
Pollution degree 2: In general, there is only non-conductive pollution, and occasional
temporary conduction caused by condensation occurs. typical office/home
environment. Temporary condensation occurs only when the product is not in use;
Pollution degree 3: There is conductive pollution, or dry non-conductive
pollution becomes conductive due to expected condensation;
Pollution degree 4: Causes persistent conductive pollution, such as pollution caused
by conductive dust or rain and snow.
