Note: When New Trigger is enabled and if not in External Level mode, Laser On/
Off will have no effect. When noreads occur, the laser will remain on.
Timeout or New Trigger
Read Cycle Timeout
Note: A minimum setting of 2 is recommended.
Note:
Timeout or Timeout or New Trigger under End of Read Cycle must be
enabled for
Timeout Duration to take effect.
Usage:
New Trigger is an effective way to end a read cycle when objects move
past the scanner at irregular intervals (not timing dependent).
Definition:
New Trigger ends the current read cycle and initiates a new one when a
new trigger occurs.
New Trigger refers only to a “rising edge” trigger.
With either
External Edge, Serial, or Serial or Edge enabled, an edge or
serial trigger ends a read cycle and initiates the next read cycle.
In the case of
External Level, a falling edge trigger ends the read cycle
but the next read cycle does not begin until the occurrence of the next
rising edge trigger.
(See
and
Usage:
Used in applications that require an alternative way to end the read cycle.
For example, if an assembly line should stop completely or the intervals
between objects are highly irregular.
Definition:
Timeout or New Trigger
is identical to
Timeout, except that a timeout
or a new trigger (whichever occurs first) ends the read cycle.
Usage:
It is useful in many tightly controlled applications which require a read
cycle to end before the next object appears and therefore need the flexi-
bility of a timeout adjustment.
Definition:
Read Cycle Timeout is the time span of the read cycle and is repre-
sented in 10 mS increments. It is used in conjunction with
External
Edge or Serial Trigger.
