Setting Up the Scanner
Setting Up the Scanner
To set up the scanner, proceed as follows:
1
Turn off power to the Profit Point Point of Sale (POS) terminal.

Unplug the AC power to the POS Distribution Box (D-Box) power supply.

Remove the scanner and the Metrologic cable from the shipping box.
Note: None of the other parts in the shipping box, including the scanner power transformer,
will be used with this installation.

Insert the phone jack end of the scanner cable into the phone jack connector on the scanner
(
Figure 1 on page 6 ).

Connect the DB9 connector on the scanner cable to the scanner port on the POS D-Box
(
Figure 1 on page 6 ).

Plug in the POS D-Box power supply to the AC outlet ( Figure 1 on page 6 ).

Turn on the Profit Point POS terminal. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. The
Profit Point terminal initializes and begins the POS operations.
