Introduction
Your bar code scanner has been programmed at the factory and should be ready to operate.
This document contains a verification sequence that allows you to determine whether your
scanner is programmed correctly and a programming sequence to follow if it is not
programmed correctly.
Setting Up the Scanner

Turn off power to the Profit Point POS terminal.

Unplug the AC power to the POS distribution box power supply.

Remove the scanner power supply from the shipping box and discard per local practice.

Open the MCA cover, make the following changes, then close the cover.
• Remove jumper/shunt from JP2 and discard (see Before in
).
• Move jumper/shunt from JP1 pins 2 and 3 (see Before in
) to JP1 pins 1 and 2 (see
After in
).
• If contained in shipping box, place power supply connector cover on power supply
connector on MCA (see After in
).
CAUTION
Be aware of the following:
• When an IEE
®
customer display is used, the scanner will be operating at the 9600 baud rate.
• When an Ultimate Technology
®
customer display is used, the scanner will be operating at the
1200 baud rate.
• For Datalogic DLL2020 scanners, refer to MDE-4389 Setting Up Datalogic DLL2020 Bar
Code Scanner Used on Profit Point Terminal.
CAUTION
Before proceeding, make sure the Metrologic
®
Connector Adapter (MCA) is not connected to the
scanner, communication cable, or host.
