NOTICE
Inserting the VIS lamp is described in the chapter about the installation
(see chapter 3.5.1, page 20) .
If the instrument is operated with the VIS lamp and the UV lamp, adjust
the UV lamp and the lamp settings after inserting the VIS lamp. This is
described in the chapter about the installation
(see chapter 4.1, page
30) .
6.4.2 Replacing the UV lamp

Harmful UV radiation
Damage to the eyes and skin by UV radiation if the lamp is removed
while it is switched on.

Switch off the instrument before removing the lamp.
After a prolonged burning time, the radiation of the UV lamp starts to
decrease. This can be noticed by an increased noise on the baseline. The
service life of the lamp is approximately 2,000 operating hours. This
means that after 2,000 operating hours at a wave length of 250 nm the
intensity decreases by 50% at the most. Replace the UV lamp if the noise
on the baseline becomes too strong and the burning time of the lamp is
more than 2,000 hours. Replace the UV lamp if the lamp does not light up
anymore when it has cooled down.
Removing the UV lamp

1 Disconnecting the UV lamp
Loosen the retaining ring on the plug of the UV lamp (16- 1 ) . Remove
the plug from the connection socket UV (3- 3 ) .
