6 Troubleshooting
The 889 IC Sample Center is controlled by the MagIC Net
™
PC software. If
a problem occurs which is directly related to the 889 IC Sample Center, then
an error number will be identified in a message window. The significance of
the error numbers is listed in the following chapter.
6.1
Error list
6.1.1 Rack unit
Problem
Cause
Remedy
Error 294
The Home sensor of the rack
holder has not been activated.
1. Switch off sample changer.
2. Slide the rack holder carefully back
and forth and remove possible obsta-
cles.
3. If possible, slide the rack holder back-
wards right to the stop.
4. Switch on sample changer.
If the error occurs again, please call the
Metrohm Service.
Error 295
The current position of the rack
holder deviates more than 2
mm from the Home position.
1. Switch off sample changer.
2. Slide the rack holder carefully back
and forth and remove possible obsta-
cles.
3. If possible, slide the rack holder back-
wards right to the stop.
4. Switch on sample changer.
If the error occurs again, please call the
Metrohm Service.
Error 296
The Home sensor has not been
deactivated.

If in one of the following steps the
rack holder has to be moved: first
switch off the sample changer.

Ensure that the transport safeguard
(foam material) has been removed
from the sample chamber.
￭
Remove other possible obstacles in
the area of the rack holder.
