Installing the Steam Lines (if Used)
This section applies only to applications using steam-heated valves.
For details about steam supply requirements, refer to the “Block
Diagram” and “Piping & Instrumentation Diagram” in the analyzer
Documentation Package.
The Steam Inlet/Exhaust tubing (by customer) transports steam which
heats the sample gas at the extraction point.
The tubing must be 1/4" or 3/8" 316 stainless steel tubing. If using 1/4" line,
1/4" NPT-F connectors are required; if using 3/8" tubing, 3/8"-to-1/4" NPT-F
(reducing) connectors are required. The steam must be dry saturated
steam, supplied at a pressure as per application specifications.
When installing the Steam Inlet/Exhaust piping, refer to Sample Probe
drawings in the analyzer

To install the Steam Inlet/Exhaust tubing:
1. After the Sample Probe Valve and Vent Valve Assemblies have been
installed, run the tubing from the steam source to the Sample Probe
Valve.
Using NPT-F connectors, connect one end of the steam tubing to the
steam source and the other end to the Steam Inlet port on the Sample
Probe Valve.
For both the Steam Inlet/Exhaust tubes, configure the steam plumbing
to avoid back pressure and/or steam flow restrictions.
Maintain the heating quality of the steam.
2. Install tubing between the Sample Probe Valve and Vent Valve. Use
1/4" NPT-F connectors to connect the tubing from the Steam Exhaust
port on the Sample Probe Valve to the Steam Inlet port on the Valve
Assembly.
Run 1/4" stainless steel tubing from the Vent Valve to the steam/con-
densate exhaust location. Using a 1/4" NPT-F connector, connect the
steam tubing to the Steam Exhaust port on the Vent Valve and to the
steam/condensate exhaust location on the other end.

