Danger!
– Mount saw blade using only genuine parts.
– Do not use loose-fitting reducing rings; the saw
blade could work loose.
– Saw blades have to be mounted in such way
that they do not wobble or run out of balance
and cannot work loose during operation.
11.Close again retractable blade guard
.
12.Slide on the outer flange
– The pins must
show in direction of the saw blade (
pay
attention to Fig. Y)
.
13.Turn the saw blade until the pins engage in the
secondary holes.
Machines with a tensioning screw (40):
14.Screw on the tensioning screw
in anti-
clockwise direction (left-hand thread!) and
tighten by hand.
15.Lock saw blade: press the locking button
and turn the saw blade with the other hand
until the locking button engages. Hold down
the locking button.
Danger!
– Do not extend the hexagon wrench
.
– Do not tighten the tensioning screw by hitting
the hexagon wrench
16.Firmly tighten the tensioning screw
using
the hexagon wrench
.
Machines with tool-free clamping module (41):
17.Reset the clamping module (
Fig. N
): Plug the
threaded pin
into the bore of the cutting
depth limitation and turn the handwheel
of the clamping module in clockwise direction
until the display shows
18.Screw on the clamping module onto the saw
. Turn the handwheel
(left-hand thread!), until the saw blade also
turns, lock the saw blade (locking button
)
and firmly
tighten.
The display must then be yellow.
Danger!
The display must not be red after attaching the
clamping module. If the display is still red:
· Repeat steps 17 and 18.
· Check threaded pin and saw blade shaft for
damage.
Check function:
19.Loosen the safety lock
and fold the saw
downwards:
– when folding down the retractable blade guard
, it has to provide free access to the saw
blade without touching other parts.
– When folding the saw upwards into the
starting position, the retractable blade guard

has to cover the saw blade automatically.
– Rotate the saw blade manually. You should be
able to rotate the saw blade into any possible
position without touching other parts.
9.2 Table insert change
Danger!
With a damaged table insert
there is a risk of
small parts getting stuck between table insert and
saw blade, blocking the saw blade. Replace
damaged table inserts immediately!

: Lever out the table insert
using a
screwdriver. The table insert will be destroyed
and cannot be reused.
2. Insert a new table insert and latch into place.
9.3 Adjustments
Adjusting the turntable (Fig. P)
in 0° position.
2. Loosen the screw
by two turns.
3. Swivel saw head downwards and engage
transport lock
4. Align the turntable
on the parallel guide /
ripping fence in such a way that the parallel
guide / ripping fence
is exactly
perpendicular to the saw blade.
5. Tighten the locking handle
turntable.
6. Tighten the screw
again.
Adjust the pointer for the mitre angle (Fig. Q)
1. Undo the screw
2. Adjust the pointer
in such a way that the
value shown corresponds to the set latching
position of the turntable.
3. Tighten the screw
Adjust the shifting force of the traction
function (Fig. R)
1. Release the counter nut
2. Adjust the stud bolt
until the desired
shifting force has been achieved.
3. Retighten the counter nut.
Adjust the latching position for the mitre
angle
1. Latch the swivel arm in 0° position, do
not
tighten the lock lever
2.

Undo the upper screw
or 2 screws
(only KGS 216 Plus) and remove swivel
arm.

Undo two Allen screws
on the rear
side of the device by about one turn.
4. Align the swivel arm in such a way that the
saw blade exactly perpendicular to the
turntable.
5. Retighten the two Allen screws
.
6. Tighten the locking lever
.
7. Replace the swivel arm cover and fix with
screws.
8. Undo the screws
for about one turn.
9. Adjust the pointer
in such a way that the
value shown corresponds to the set latching
position of the swivel arm.
10.Tighten the screws
Readjust mitre clamping
If the mitre angle of the swivel arm can be
changed by pressing against it from the side
despite tightened locking lever
, the mitre
clamping must be readjusted.
1. Latch the swivel arm in 0° position. The
locking lever
is released.
2. Dismantle the swivel arm cover (see previous
section).

Retighten the hexagon nut
until
the desired clamping force is achieved.
4. Tighten the locking lever
for the
inclination setting. It must be possible to
tighten the lever noticeably.

position (pull in direction of the operator side).
6. Check the swivel arm by pressing on the
sides. It must be not be possible to tighten the
lever noticeably.
If the swivel arm still cannot be moved afterwards:
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6. Loosen or tighten the
hexagon nut
accordingly.
8. Replace the swivel arm cover and fix with
screws.
Adjust the cutting laser
Danger!
LASER BEAM
DO NOT LOOK INTO THE BEAM
Use the supplied Allen key (2.5 mm) to adjust the
laser.

9.4 Cleaning the device
Remove chips and saw dust with vacuum cleaner
or brush from:
– adjustment devices and safety devices;
– retractable blade guard;
– controls;
– motor vent slots;
– space under table insert;
– space under turntable;
– cutting laser;
9.5 Storage of device
Danger!
· Store the device in such a way that it cannot be
put into operation by unauthorised personnel.
· Ensure that the stationary device cannot cause
injury.
Caution!
· Do not store the saw outdoors, in unprotected
areas or in damp or wet locations.
9.6 Maintenance
Prior to each use
· Remove saw chips with vacuum or brush.
· Check power cable and power cable plug for
damage; if necessary have damaged parts
replaced by a qualified electrician.
· Check all movable parts if they can be moved
freely across the entire range of movement.
· Check whether the retractable blade cover
works properly and does not stick. It has to
provide free access to the saw blade without
touching other parts. When folding the saw
upwards into the starting position, it has to cover
the saw blade automatically. If parts are
damaged or not working correctly, have the
device repaired before using.
Regularly, depending on conditions of use
· Check all screwed joints, retighten if necessary.
· Check reset function of the saw head (saw head
has to return to the upper starting position by
means of spring force), if required have spring
replaced.
· Slightly oil guide elements.
– Use appropriate supports on the left and right of
the saw for long workpieces.
– When cutting small pieces, use additional guide
(a suitable wooden board attached with screws
to the guide of the device, can be used as
additional guide).

board place the convex side at the parallel
guide/ripping fence.
– Do not cut workpiece upright, but flat on the
turntable.
Use only genuine Metabo accessories.
