Introduction
The ViewPoint Essentials wireless sensor is an integral part of the ViewPoint continuous monitoring
(“CM”) system
which is an end-to-end enterprise asset monitoring system that is designed to
continuously monitor vital assets and notify individuals when an alarm condition exists. The sensors
have the following features:
•
Battery powered
•
1 analog input: Thermistor temperature probe
•
1 digital input: Humidity/Temperature
•
1 dry contact / binary input
•
Expanded local data storage of 2,500-time stamped records (2 analog and 1 discreet input)
•
Removable probe for convenient Probe Exchange options
There are three families of the ViewPoint (VP) sensors: VPx Generation 5, VPx Professional Generation 6
and VP Essentials.
VP Essentials sensors operate in the 902 to 928 MHz frequency range and requires a ViewPoint Access
Point to be able to forward data to the ViewPoint application.
The VP Essentials 900 MHz sensors also support a legacy radio network protocol called Check Point G4
and can be used in the same system as Check Point G4 sensors. For more information on how to
configure this mode, see the VPx Configuration Utility User Manual. The main part of the user guide
assumes the use of the ViewPoint Radio Network.
