Piston Installation

1. Before installing the new piston rings, check the ring gap by placing each ring in its respective cylinder and pushing the ring

12.7 mm (1/2 in.) into the cylinder using the piston.

2. Check the end gap of each piston ring with a feeler gauge. The end gap must be within specification. If the end gap is greater

than the specifications, check other piston rings until rings within the tolerance are found.
