5. Fasten outboard by drilling two 7.9 mm (5/16 in.) holes through
the transom using transom clamp holes as a template. Fasten
with two bolts, flat washers and locknuts. The use of clamp
handles alone is insufficient to properly and safely secure the
outboard to the transom. Use a marine waterproofing sealer
in holes and around bolts to make the installation water tight.

WARNING
Failure to correctly fasten the outboard could result in the
outboard propelling off the boat transom resulting in property
damage, serious injury, or death. Before operation, the outboard
must be correctly installed with the required mounting
hardware. Do not accelerate above idle speed in water that may
contain underwater obstacles if the outboard is not attached to
the transom correctly.
Installing the Remote Control Devices
It is recommended to consult with your dealer for installation and
adjustment of the remote control device.
