Turn battery switch "ON," if equipped.
Operate bilge blowers, if equipped.
Open fuel shut off valve.
Open seacock, if equipped.
Perform all other checks specified by your dealer and/or
boat builder.

After Starting
Observe all gauges to check condition of engine. If not
normal, stop engine.
Check for fuel, oil, water, fluid and exhaust leaks, etc.
Check shift and throttle control operation.
Check steering operation.
3.
While Underway
Observe all gauges to monitor engine condition.
4.
After Stopping
Shift to neutral. Turn ignition key "OFF."
Turn battery switch "OFF," if equipped.
Close fuel valve.
Close seacock.
Flush cooling system if in saltwater area.
Freezing Temperature Operation
IMPORTANT: If boat is operated in freezing temperatures,
ensure that closed coolant is rated for the temperature range in
which it is to be used. The seawater section of the engine must
be drained after use to prevent freezing. Damage caused by
freezing is not covered by Mercury Racing's Limited Warranty.
