Notes for persons with electronic
medical aids
Daimler Truck AG cannot, despite careful
development, completely rule out the interac-
tion of vehicle systems with electronic medical
aids such as cardiac pacemakers.
In addition, there are components installed in
the vehicle that, regardless of the operating
status of the vehicle, can generate magnetic
fields on a par with permanent magnets. These
fields can, for example, be found in the area of
the multimedia or sound system or also in the
area of the seats, depending on the vehicle
equipment.
For this reason, the following can occur in iso-
lated cases, depending on the medical aids
used:
R
medical aids malfunctioning
R
adverse health effects
Observe the notes and warnings of the manu-
facturer of the medical aids; if in doubt, con-
tact the device manufacturer and/or your doc-
tor. Daimler Truck AG recommends using only
few electrical vehicle systems and/or main-
taining an appropriate distance from the com-
ponents if there is continuing uncertainty con-
cerning the possibility of medical aids malfunc-
tioning.
Only have repairs and maintenance work in
the area of the following components carried
out by a qualified specialist workshop:
R
vehicle components carrying live voltage
R
transmission aerials
R
multimedia system and sound system
Please contact a qualified specialist workshop
if you have any questions or suggestions.

Notes on driving
The vehicle may be damaged in the following
cases:
R
the vehicle becomes stuck, e.g. on a high
kerb or an unpaved road.
R
you drive too fast over an obstacle, e.g. a
kerb, a speed bump or a pothole in the road.
R
a heavy object strikes the underbody or
chassis components.
In such situations, the body, frame, under-
body, chassis parts, wheels or tyres could be
damaged without the damage being visible.
Components damaged in this way can unex-
pectedly fail or, in the case of an accident, no
longer withstand the strain they are designed
for.
If the underbody panelling is damaged, com-
bustible materials such as leaves, grass or
twigs can gather between the underbody and
the underbody panelling. If these materials
come in contact with hot parts of the exhaust
system for an extended period, they can catch
fire.
G
WARNING
Flammable material such as leaves, grass or
twigs may ignite if they come into contact
with hot parts of the exhaust system. There
is a risk of fire.
When driving on an unpaved road or off-
road, check the vehicle underside regularly.
In particular, remove trapped plant parts or
other flammable material. Contact a quali-
fied specialist workshop immediately if dam-
age is detected.
Have the vehicle checked and repaired imme-
diately at a qualified specialist workshop. If, on
continuing your journey, you notice that driv-
ing safety is impaired, pull over and stop the
vehicle immediately, paying attention to road
and traffic conditions. In such cases, consult a
qualified specialist workshop.
