Solutions
Engine fails to start
when the outside tem-
perature is low.
The flow properties of the diesel fuel are inadequate due to paraffin
separation.
X
Malfunctions resulting from paraffin separation can be corrected
by warming the entire fuel system, e.g. by parking the vehicle in a
heated area.
X
If the engine does not start after several attempts, have the
cause traced and rectified at a qualified specialist workshop.
The engine will not
start.
The engine electronics are malfunctioning.

Important safety notes
G
WARNING
On uphill and downhill slopes, the jack could
tip over with the vehicle raised. There is a
danger of injury.
Do not change wheels on uphill or downhill
gradients. Contact a qualified specialist
workshop.
G
WARNING
If you do not position the jack correctly at
the appropriate jacking point of the vehicle,
the jack could tip over with the vehicle
raised. There is a risk of injury.
Only position the jack at the appropriate
jacking point of the vehicle. The base of the
jack must be positioned vertically, directly
under the jacking point of the vehicle.
G
WARNING
If you remove the spare wheel from the
spare wheel bracket, the weight distribution
of the vehicle changes. If you have already
raised the vehicle, the jack could tip over.
There is a risk of injury.
Remove the spare wheel from the spare
wheel bracket before raising the vehicle.
G
WARNING
The spare wheel is extremely heavy. When
removing the spare wheel carrier, the spare
wheel may tip over or roll away uncontrolla-
bly. You or other persons may be hit by the
spare wheel. There is a risk of injury.
Have a second person assist you when
removing the spare wheel.
Wheels with a run-flat element: if the
wheels of your vehicle are equipped with a
run-flat element, it is possible to drive out of
the danger zone with deflated tyres. Please
note that a driving speed of 50 km/h must not
be exceeded. The range at maximum permissi-
ble speed is 20 km.
Observe the following when raising the vehi-
cle:
R
You will find the maximum load-bearing
capacity of the jack stated on the adhesive
label attached to the jack.
Before raising the vehicle, make sure that
maximum permissible axle load is not
exceeded, e.g. by overloading. The permissi-
ble axle load can be found on the vehicle
identification plate.
R
To raise the vehicle, only use the vehicle-
specific jack that has been tested and
approved by Mercedes-Benz. If the jack is
used incorrectly, it could tip over while the
vehicle is raised.
