Meaning of the indicator lamps:

The red electric parking brake indicator lamp flashes: the activation

status of the electric parking brake is unknown.

The yellow electric parking brake indicator lamp lights up: the elec-

tric parking brake is malfunctioning.

Note the messages on the instrument cluster.

Switch the vehicle off and on.

Engage and release the electric parking brake using the switch

while depressing the brake pedal.

If the fault message persists, park the vehicle on level ground and

secure it against rolling away (

page 141).

Consult a qualified specialist workshop.

Do not drive the vehicle when the red indicator lamp is flashing, as

the brake system may overheat.
