When you switch off the ignition, the stored
obstacles are deleted. After the engine is restar‐
ted, obstacles must be detected again, before a
new warning can be issued.
System limitations
The system limitations for Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC apply for passive side impact pro‐
tection.
Objects placed next to the vehicle, or pedes‐
trians who approach the side of the vehicle will
not be detected.

certain objects at close range.

When parking the vehicle, pay particular
attention to any objects which are
above or below the sensors, e.g. flower‐
pots or drawbars. The vehicle or other
objects could otherwise be damaged.
