suitable for higher speeds. There is a risk of
accident.
You should therefore adapt your driving style
accordingly and drive carefully. Do not exceed
the specified maximum speed with a tyre that
has been repaired using tyre sealant.
!
After use, excess tyre sealant may run out of
the filler hose. This could cause stains.
Therefore, place the filler hose in the plastic
bag which contained the TIREFIT kit.
Have the used tyre sealant bottle disposed of
professionally, e.g. at a Mercedes-Benz Ser-
vice Centre.
X
Switch off the tyre inflation compressor.
X
Remove the connector from the 12 V socket
on the centre console.
X
Unscrew the filler hose from the valve on the
defective tyre.
X
Close the tyre sealant bottle with the cap.
X
Stow away the tyre sealant bottle, the tyre
inflation compressor and the warning trian-
gle.
X
Pull away immediately.
This allows the tyre sealant to distribute
throughout the tyre.
X
After driving for approximately 10 minutes,
stop the vehicle at a suitable location, e.g. at
a car park or filling station.
X
Check the tyre pressure again.
The tyre pressure must now be at least
130 kPa (1.3 bar, 20 psi).
If the required tyre pressure is not reached
after driving for a short period, the tyre is too
badly damaged. The tyre sealant cannot
repair the tyre in this instance. Damaged tyres
and a tyre pressure that is too low can signif-
icantly impair the vehicle's braking and driv-
ing characteristics. There is a risk of accident.
Do not continue driving. Contact a qualified
specialist workshop.
If the tyre pressure is still at least 130 kPa
(1.3 bar, 20 psi):
X
If possible, inflate the tyre to the recommen-
ded tyre pressure. See the edge of driver's
door for the tyre pressure level (
X
Stow the tyre sealant bottle, the tyre inflation
compressor and the warning triangle.
X
Drive to the nearest qualified specialist work-
shop as soon as possible and have the tyre
and tyre sealant replaced.
X
Have the tyre sealant bottle and the filler hose
replaced as soon as possible at a qualified
specialist workshop.
Work on the battery, e.g. removing or installing,
requires specialist knowledge and the use of
special tools. Therefore, always have work on
the battery carried out at a qualified specialist
workshop.
Work carried out incorrectly on the battery
can lead, for example, to a short circuit and
thus damage the vehicle electronics. This can
lead to function restrictions applying to
safety-relevant systems, e.g the lighting sys-
tem, the ABS (anti-lock braking system) or the
ESP
®
(Electronic Stability Program). The oper-
ating safety of your vehicle may be restricted.
You could lose control of the vehicle, for
example:
R
when braking
R
in the event of abrupt steering manoeuvres
and/or when the vehicle's speed is not
adapted to the road conditions
There is a risk of an accident.
In the event of a short circuit or a similar inci-
dent, contact a qualified specialist workshop
immediately. Do not drive any further. Always
have work on the battery carried out at a
qualified specialist workshop.
