Introduction of the New G-Class, Model Series 463

The following restraint systems, which are coordi-
nated with each other, help to protect the occupants
of a G-Class in an accident:
• Airbag for driver and front passenger with seat
occupied recognition
• Windowbags protect the head area of vehicle
occupants in the outer seats
• ISOFIX child seat anchors on all three rear seats for
secure attachment of appropriate child seats
• 3-point seat belts for driver, front passenger and
rear with reversible emergency tensioning
retractors for driver, front passenger and outer
rear seats
• Crash-active NECK-PRO luxury head restraints for
driver and front passenger prevent the risk of
whiplash injuries during a rear-end collision
The safety of vehicle occupants has been further
improved through the use of a new airbag control unit
and the integration of additional sensor systems.
The driver airbag has a two-stage design and the front
passenger airbag a one-stage design. In addition, a
windowbag provides head protection.
Two new up-front sensors have been integrated in the
headlamp covering as well as an additional sensor in
each B-pillar.
