Remember: moving components, due to inertia, keep moving for some time after the
machine is turned off. Before touching any part of the machine, turn off the drive source, look
and listen for evidence of movement. Touch any machine component only if you are absolutely
sure that it is free of movement. Always remain attentive.
Do not rest the machine on concrete blocks, hollow bricks or other supports that could
collapse under prolonged load. Always use a secure support when necessary. When
necessary, always use a secure support.
2.4 - MAINTENANCE SAFETY
Maintenance, inspection and repair may only be carried out by a qualified technician
who is aware of the risks involved. It is therefore necessary to foresee the operating
procedures for the whole machine, appropriate to the management of the danger situations
which may arise and the methods to prevent them. The skilled technician must always work
with extreme caution, paying the utmost attention and respecting all safety standards.
Disconnect the power take-off, the tractor engine and remove the ignition key before
adjusting, lubricating or servicing the machine. Never make repairs or adjustments to the
connected machine.
Make sure all system components are kept in good condition.
Wear personal protective equipment - PPE (gloves, goggles, hearing protector, shoes and
appropriate clothing) when performing maintenance services.
2.5 - PERSONAL SECURITY
The safety of the operator and others is a major concern in the design and
development of a machine. However, many accidents occur every year that could have
been prevented in general due to lack of attention and observance of safety rules during
operation.
Read this manual carefully and be alert at all times.
Never operate the machine under the influence of alcohol, medicines or drugs that may
impair alertness or coordination.
Wear personal protective equipment - PPE - when operating the machine: Hearing
protector (prolonged exposure to noise may cause hearing damage or loss), safety goggles
(protect eyes during operation).
Dress appropriately to operate the machine, do not wear excessively loose clothing, and
lock long hair. Remove rings, chains and other elements that may get caught in moving parts
or mechanisms. Loose clothes and long hair can be caught by working mechanisms.
Always keep hands away from moving parts.
Never attempt to clean or unclog any part of the machine while it is on. This procedure
can only be performed with the PTO off, the key removed from the tractor ignition and the
machine without any movement.
