A2DP Profile Wireless Technology
rocks the house with its High Power Audio Amplifier and Spectrum Analyzer
displayed on the LCD screen. Its rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery makes
it portable. Choose your source of music from any Bluetooth-enabled device,
FM-PLL stereo radio, or MP3 files on a USB drive or SD Card. Please follow these
operational instructions carefully. Save them for future reference.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
The MW5554 Bluetooth Multi-Media Boombox features a built-in rechargeable
battery that can be charged using the Micro USB DC Jack

located on the rear
of the unit. Before first use, fully recharge the speaker for a minimum of 8 hours for
optimal performance and battery life.
1. Connect charging cable (included) to a computer USB port or USB power adapter
with 5V supply.
2. When connected to a power source, the CHARGE indicator
v
will light solid Red
to indicate the charging is in progress.
3. The CHARGE indicator
v
will turn off when the integrated battery is fully charged.
CHARGING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE
You can charge an external device by connecting its USB charging cable into the
rear USB CHARGING socket

under the rubber flap. Charging does not work while
in the FM mode.
OPERATION
Pair a Bluetooth-Enabled Mobile Device
1. Turn on MW5554 by pressing the Power button

located on front of the unit.
2. Repeatedly press the Function button

to select the Bluetooth mode (the
Bluetooth indicator will appear in the display and a tone will sound). The unit
will automatically search for and pair to a previously paired Bluetooth device (if
previously paired). You can also press and hold the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause
( ) button

for 2 seconds to begin pairing; the blue PAIR indicator will blink.
3. Turn on your mobile device’s Bluetooth option in settings to search for a
discoverable device with a Bluetooth signal. Select MRX-MW5554 from the
device results on your smartphone or tablet.
4. You can also switch between paired devices or pair a new device by pressing and
holding the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button

indicator will blink.
5. You will hear an audible tone indicating the Bluetooth connection is now enabled
and the blue PAIR indicator

will light solid when successfully paired.
6. Use “0000” if a pairing code is necessary on your mobile device.
7. Find your music selection on your mobile device, select play and enjoy!
8. While connected via Bluetooth, press the FM Mode/Pair/Play-Pause ( ) button

If connection is lost after successful pairing, check to make sure the distance
between speaker and Bluetooth-enabled device does not exceed 30 ft/10 m. If the
connection is interrupted due to low battery, switch the speaker off, recharge the
internal battery, and repeat steps when fully charged.

Listen to Music Using the Line-In Source
This unit provides an auxiliary audio signal input jack for connecting external audio
devices like MP3 players, CD players and listening to your external source through
the speakers of this system.
1. Insert one end of an audio cable (not included) into the Line Out Jack (or
Headphone Jack) on your external audio device and the other end into the AUX
Jack

2. Repeatedly press the Function button

3. Use the connected external audio device to play and pause music. Sound will be
heard through the speaker.
4. Adjust the speaker volume level either by pushing the “+”

HEADPHONE JACK
For private listening, insert headphone cable (not included) into the Headphone jack

AUTO OFF
The MW5554 will automatically shut off if there is no music from a Line-In source or
from a Bluetooth-enabled device for more than 20 minutes.
Notes:
• Charging time will vary if you listen to music while charging the battery. Turn off
the speaker power during the charging process or until battery is fully charged.
• To prolong battery life, completely discharge before fully recharging again.
• Recharge the battery at least once a month.
MAINTAINING YOUR SYSTEM FOR CONTINUED ENJOYMENT
• When not in use, turn the unit off. To extend the battery life of your external
audio/mobile device, turn off the Bluetooth signal when not in use.
• Keep the unit away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
• Clean durable rubberized exterior with a damp soft cloth.
• Protect your furniture when placing the unit on wood and lacquered finishes.
Notes:
• When the unit is on and in Bluetooth source mode, the speaker will automatically
try to connect to the most recently played paired device when available. Up to
six devices maximum may be stored in Bluetooth memory.
• To avoid interference, deactivate Wi-Fi on your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.)
when using Bluetooth.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Not Charging:
• Check to make sure the USB cable (provided) is plugged into the Micro USB Jack
and the other end is plugged into a USB Power Adapter (not included) or Powered
USB jack on a computer.
• Plug another device into the same outlet to confirm the power source is working.
Sound not clear or no sound:
• Check volume levels on both MW5554 speaker and connected device.
• Check distance between this unit and the connected device.
Music does not play from external device:
• Make sure you are using a Bluetooth-enabled device.
• Select MRX-MW5554 as your speaker device, disconnect this unit and device
from pairing with all other devices.
• Check if both devices are connected.
• Restart the MW5554 and auto-connect with the Bluetooth-enabled device.
Unit gets warm after extended play at high volume
• This is normal; turn the unit off for a period of time or lower the volume.

5. Do not use this apparatus near water.
