IMPORTANT:
Keep the tyres and aluminium belt pulleys
free from grease and oil.
Control for ejection angle
Lubricate the worm gear to set the ejection
angle with a suitable grease.
Gearbox
The gearbox is lubricated at the factory and
does not need any maintenance. If it needs to
be dismantled for any reason, lubricate with
60 ml Lithium grease for high stress. Before
replacing the gearbox, remove the old seal and
replace with a new one.
IMPORTANT:
Do not overfill the gearbox, this can damage
the seal. Check that the vent plug is free from
grease.
Auger shaft
The shear pins on the auger shaft should be
removed at least once every season. Spray
lubricant in the shaft and lubricate the plastic
bearings in the auger at least every season.
Auger bearings
Lubricate the auger bearings and the bearings
on the side of the frame with a thin oil once
every season.
Shear pins
The auger is mounted on the spiral shaft with
two shear pins and cotters. The shear pins can
break off if the auger hits ice or a solid object.
If the auger does not rotate, check whether the
shear pins have sheared off. Two extra shear
4. Check that the sealing washer is in
good condition. Carefully screw in the
spark plug by hand to avoid threading
problems.
5. Tighten the spark plug with the supplied
socket to compress the sealing washer.
NOTE:
• Tighten a new spark plug a 1/2 turn after
it seats to compress the sealing washer.
If refitting the same, used spark plug,
tighten it 1/8–1/4 turn after it seats to
compress the sealing washer.
• Tighten the spark plug properly. Loose
spark plugs can overheat and damage
the engine.
CLEANING THE ENGINE
Allow the engine to cool for at least 30 minutes
before cleaning. Remove any impurities from
the engine at regular intervals.
IMPORTANT:
Never spray water on the engine – risk of fuel
contamination or water entering through the
muffler and damaging the engine.
LUBRICATION
Drive and gear mechanism
Lubricate once a year, or after every 25 working
hours. Remove the rear cover and lubricate the
bearings, shafts and gear components once a
year with engine oil or lubricating spray (e.g.
WD40).
Gear linkage
Lubricate the gear linkage with a suitable
grease once a year, or after every 25 working
hours.
