INSTRUMENTS
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Instruments Replacement
Following instructions are typical and apply to
all instruments installed in instrument panel.
Comply with electrical safe
ty precautions (Ref. Sec.
01-00-00) when troubleshooting or re
placing ammeter.
(1). Check that all electrical power is OFF.
(2). (Slim-Line instrument panels and L/H
command T-Panels only) Remove
instrument panel fairings.
(3). (Slim-Line instrument panels only)
Remove hood attaching screws and
move hood aft far enough to access
instrument mounting screws.
(4). (L/H command T-Panels only) Remove
hood.
(5). Disconnect electrical connector(s) and
wiring or tubing, as applicable, from
back of instrument. Install suitable
covers over tube fittings, instrument
fittings and loose wire terminals.
NOTE:
N1 tachometer and TOT indicators are
mounted to panel with clamps that only
have to be loosened to remove instrument.
Always loosen cinching screw in upper left
corner of clamp first to release clamp adjust
ing mechanism; then loosen lower right, or
holding, screw and slide instrument out
ward, away from panel face and out of
clamp.
(6). At face of panel, remove hardware that
attaches instrument to panel and
remove instrument from back side of
panel. Attachment hardware may also
secure hood light assemblies.
(7). Position replacement instrument into
panel cutout from back side and secure
with mounting screws.
NOTE:
When installing either N
1
tachometer
or TOT indicator, slide instrument into face
side of panel and through supporting clamp.
Align instrument, tighten lower right (hold
ing) screw and tighten upper left (cinching)
screw to tighten clamp and secure case.
(8). Connect tubing, electrical connector(s)
or wiring to back of instrument. Avoid
reversing connections for pitot and
static lines.
(9). If removed, reinstall panel fairings;
then install hood on instrument panel.
(10). Perform engine run-up and flight test
to check instrument operation (Ref.
PFM).
2. Caution and Warning Indicator Lamps
Replacement
(1). Grasp edges of legend face and pull
lamp module out of housing. Allow
lamp module to hinge downward for
access to base of midget lamps.
(2). Replace faulty lamp and reinstall lamp
module in housing.
(3). Check lamp operation by pressing
PRESS-TO-TEST switch.
3. Caution and Warning Indicator Light
Assembly Replacement
(1). Check that electrical power is OFF.
(2). Grasp edges of legend face, pull lamp
module from switch housing and allow
it to hinge downward.
(3). Inside housing, locate two mounting
cam-locking screws. Loosen screws
until cams are disengaged from mount
ing sleeve.
(4). Gain access to forward side of instru
ment panel and slide mounting sleeve
from switch housing.
