Make sure voltage regulator is
set according to applicable bat
tery installed (Ref. Table 201). Failure to ad
just voltage regulator to the correct settings
can damage battery.
(5). As you keep an applicable N
1
idle speed
rpm, look at voltmeter indication.
(a). If an incorrect voltage indication is
shown, open the adjustment screw
cover on the voltage regulator (Ref.
Figure 202).
(b). Turn voltage adjustment screw
slowly for incremental voltage
increase or decrease as necessary
(0.05 volt increments are possible).
(6). As you hold full down collective pitch,
increase engine speed to 100% N
2
.
(7). Examine the voltmeter to make sure
the voltage is within the tolerance
range.
(a). If necessary, readjust the voltage to
stay within the limits at the engine
speeds shown in steps (5). and (6).
(8). Quickly increase electrical loads by
turning on all possible radio and
electrical equipment.
NOTE:
Except for momentary fluctuations,
regulator must keep the generator output at
voltage listed in Table 201 as indicated on
meter.
(9). Turn off electrical loads.
(10). Decrease
engine speed to stabilize at
the appropriate N
1
idle speed range
(Ref. applicable Pilot's Flight Manual).
(11). Shut down engine.
(12). If electrical loads cause voltage to
change outside specified range, replace
voltage regulator and do steps (1). thru
(11). again.
(13). Disconnect and remove voltmeter and
close voltage regulator adjustment
screw cover.
