(3). Remove plug, nut, lockwasher, washer,
and tab from bolt light.
(4). Remove bolt light from upper right
corner of indicator.
(5). Remove two screws and remove
indicator from instrument panel.
(6). Remove union from rear of indicator.
(7). To replace, install union to rear of
indicator.
(8). Install indicator to instrument panel
with two screws.
(9). Install bolt light to upper right corner
of indicator.
(10). Install plug, nut, lockwasher, and tab to
bolt light.
(11). Connect static line to rear of indicator.

D. Indicator Removal
(1). Ensure that BATT-OFF-EXT switch is
in OFF
position.
(2). Disconnect reducer from rear of
indicator, and cap openings.
(3). Remove nut, washer, and screw from
lower right corner of indicator face.
(4). Remove Grimes hardware attaching
half-fixture light mask to mounting
plate. As mask will still be attached to
panel by wire L528K22, it may be
desirable to temporarily tape mask to
panel.
(5). Remove nuts and screws attaching
Grimes light mounting plate to panel
and securing indicator to instrument
panel.
(6). Loosen lower end of clamp by removing
screw, washer, and nut.
(7). Carefully remove indicator from rear of
panel.
E. Grimes Light Assembly Removal
(1). To replace the two lamp bulbs, the
hoods are pulled straight out of the
spring retainers, new bulbs inserted,
and the hoods snapped back into place.
NOTE:
It is unlikely the Grimes half-fixture
post light assembly itself will require re
placement. However, should replacement be
necessary, The IVSI indicator must first be
removed for access to lamp wire routing
(Ref. Indicator Removal). Then proceed as
follows:
(2). Disconnect pin from terminal block
TB700.
(3). Loosen wire bundle straps
MS17821-1-9 as required to free wire
L528K22.
(4). Grasping light assembly mask (wire
attached) from front of panel, pull wire
thru hole in panel.
NOTE:
If instructions (Ref. Indicator Removal)
have been followed, the Grimes light assem
bly will be detached.
F. Indicator and Grimes Light Assembly
Installation
Essentially, when the indicator and/or the Grimes
half-fixture light assembly are installed, they
must be installed simultaneously. When replacing
the indicator, the light assembly must be dis
mantled because of its attachment method. When
replacing the light assembly, the indicator must be
removed to route the light wire. Most steps in the
initial installation procedure also apply to replace
ment (Ref. Instantaneous Vertical Speed Indicator
and Grimes Light Assembly Installation).
