Cab Operation
DANGER
If the Packer comes into contact or close
proximity with a power line or there is any
arcing, stay in the truck cab and keep away
from the metal parts of the unit. Do not let
anyone come close to the truck. Do not
attempt to jump clear of the truck. Stay in the
cab. The power company must disconnect
the power before you can safely leave the
cab.
Minimum clearance from power lines:
50,000 Volts or Less
4 Feet
50,000 + Volts
10 Feet
345,000 - 750,000 Volts
16 Feet
Know the clearance of overhead
obstructions. Never drive the Packer under
any overhead obstruction. Failure to do so
may result in damage to the Packer body or
truck, and may result in serious personal
injury or death.
DANGER
If chassis is equipped with a stand-up
drive position, use stand-up position only
during refuse pick-up or collection
activities for distances of less than 2/10
mile (0.32 km). Failure to heed this warning
may result in serious personal injury or death.
DANGER
DO NOT operate vehicle in excess of
20 MPH from stand-up position. Failure
to do so can result in serious personal
injury or death.
DANGER
Always drive defensively. Never exceed
posted speeds. Use lower speeds when
going around curves, corners, or freeway
on/off ramps. You are carrying a high center
of gravity load. Failure to comply can lead
to a roll over or other loss of control of the
vehicle resulting in serious personal injury
or death.
