Updating and Upgrading VirusScan Software

Here, the AutoUpgrade utility lists the sites from which it will download 
new VirusScan program files. It also reports each site’s current status as 
Enabled or Disabled. A site is enabled if you have selected the 

Enabled

 

checkbox in the Automatic Upgrade Properties dialog box. A site is 
disabled if you clear this checkbox. This designation does not change 
whether or not the AutoUpgrade utility can connect with the site.

You will not see any sites listed initially, because the AutoUpgrade utility 
does not come configured to connect to any upgrade site. You must add 
the sites you need from the information you received when you 
purchased VirusScan software. The AutoUpgrade utility can download 
new program files from any network share or FTP site that you specify. 

You can add as many different sites as you need, and alter the order in 
which the utility tries to connect to them. The utility will try each site in 
turn, starting from the top of the list, until it successfully downloads new 
files or determines that no new files exist.
