▼ Transaxle Ranges
The shift lever m ust b e in P or N to
operate the starter.
P (P a rk )
P locks the transaxle and prevents the
fro n t w heels from rotating.

H olding the Vehicle w ith P:

fa ils to h old, the veh icle cou ld m ove

veh icle, se t the sh ift lever to P A N D

R (R ev erse)
In position R , the vehicle m oves only
backw ard. You m u st be a t a com plete stop
befo re shifting to o r from R , except as
ex plained under R o c k in g the Vehicle
(page 4-8).
N (N e u tra l)
In N , the w heels and transaxle are not
locked. T he vehicle w ill ro ll freely even
on the slightest incline unless the parking
brake o r brakes are on.
