▼ Manual Transaxle Shift Pattern
T he shift pattern o f the transaxle is
conventional, as shown.
Press the clutch ped al all the w ay dow n
w hile shifting; then release it slowly.
A safety feature prevents accidental
shifting from 5 to reverse. T he shift lever
m ust be p ut in neutral b efore being shifted
to reverse.

CAUTION
K eep y o u r foot off the clutch pedal
except w hen shifting gears. Also,
d o n ’t use the c lutch to hold the
vehicle on an upgrade. T his w ill
avoid needless clutch w ear and
dam age.
M ake sure the vehicle com es to a
com plete stop befo re shifting to
reverse.
S hifting to reverse w hile the vehicle
is still m oving m ay d am age the
transaxle.
If shifting to reverse is difficult, shift
into neutral, release the clutch pedal,
and try again.
