Doors and Locks
▼ Remote Trunk Lid Release
To release the trunk lid from inside the
vehicle, push the button.
▼ Trunk Security
In som e situations you m ay w ant to
prevent the trunk from b eing opened w ith
the rem ote trunk lid release button.
If you m ust leave your M azda w ith
another person, such as a parking
attendant, protect valuables in the trunk
by locking the rear seatbacks and trunk.
Give the other person only the secondary
key, w hich does no t open the trunk.
To secure the trunk lid, lock the rear
seatbacks (page 2-7), push the left side o f
the trunk-lock sw itch, and close the trunk.
To cancel the security feature, insert the
prim ary key into the lock, turn the key
clockw ise to open the trunk, and push the
right side o f the trunk-lock sw itch.
▼ Trunk Light
The trunk light is on w hen the lid is open
and off w hen it’s closed.
N O TE
To prevent the battery from being
discharged, do not leave the trunk open
for a long period w hen the engine is
no t running.
