Doors and Locks
▼ Rear Door Child Safety Lock
This lock is intended to help prevent
children from accidentally opening the
rear doors. U se it w henever a child rides
in the vehicle.
If you slide the child safety lock to the
lock position before closing that door, the
door cannot be opened from the inside.
The door can be opened only by lifting the
outside handle.
Keyless Entry System
This system locks and unlocks the doors
and opens the trunk.
Press the button slow ly and accurately.

CAUTION
To avoid dam age to the transm itter, do
not:
• D rop it.
• G et it wet.
• D isassem ble it.
• E xpose it to heat or sunlight.
N O TE
T he keyless entry system is
designed to operate up to about 2.5
m (8 ft) from the center o f the
v ehicle, but this m ay vary because
o f local conditions.
T he system d o e sn ’t operate w hen
the ignition sw itch is in the O N
position.
I f the transm itter does not operate
w hen pressing a button or the
operation range becom es too sm all,
the battery m ay be dead. To install a
new battery, refer to M aintenance
(page 3-6).
A dditional transm itters can be
obtained at an A uthorized M azda
D ealer. U p to 3 additional
transm itters can be used w ith the
k eyless entry system per vehicle.
B ring all transm itters to an
A uthorized M azda D ealer w hen the
electronic codes need to be reset.
