▼ Temporary Spare Tire
Inspect the tem porary spare tire at least
m onthly to m ake sure it’s properly
inflated and stored.
T he tem porary spare tire is easier to
h andle because o f its construction. It is
lighter and sm aller than a conventional
tire and should b e used only for an
em ergency and only fo r a short distance.
U se the tem porary only until the
conventional tire is repaired, w hich should
be as soon as possible.
M aintain its pressure at 4 20 kPa (60 psi).
& CAUTION
D o n ’t u se y o u r tem porary spare tire
rim w ith a snow tire or a
conventional tire. N eith er w ill
p roperly fit and could d am age both
tire and rim.
T he tem porary spare tire has a tread
life o f up to 5,000 k m (3,000 m iles),
depending on road conditions and
driving habits.
W h en the tread w ear solid-band
in d icato r appears, rep la ce the tire
w ith the sam e type o f tem porary
spare.

▼ Replacing a Wheel
W hen replacing a w heel, m ake sure the
new one is the sam e as the o riginal factory
w heel in diam eter, rim w idth, and offset.
Proper tire balancing provides the best
riding com fort and helps reduce tread
wear. O ut-of-balance tires can cause
vibration and uneven w ear, such as
cupping and flat spots.
