Tire Rotation
To equalize tread wear, ro tate the tires
every 6,000 km (3,750 m iles)/*12,000 km
(7,500 m iles) , or sooner if irregular w ear
develops. D uring rotation, inspect them
for correct b alance.

Front
Do not include (TEMPORARY USE ONLY
spare tire) in rotation.
A lso, inspect them fo r uneven w ear and
dam age. A b n o rm al w ear is usually caused
by one or a com bination of the follow ing:
• Incorrect tire pressure
• Im proper w h eel alignm ent
• O ut-of-balance w heel
• Severe braking
▼ Replacing a Tire
A WARNING
Worn Tires:
D rivin g with w orn tires is dangerou s.
R ed u c ed braking, steering, an d
traction co u ld resu lt in an accident.
A lw ays use tires th a t are in g o o d
condition.
If a tire w ears evenly, a w ear indicator
w ill appear as a solid band across the
tread.
R ep lace the tire w hen this happens.

Worn tread
You m ay need to rep lace it before the
band is across the e ntire tread.
A fter rotation, bring all tire pressures to
specification (page 10-6) and inspect the
lug nuts for tightness.
A CAUTION
R otate u nidirectional tires and radial
tires that have an asym m etrical tread
pattern o r studs only from front to rear,
not from side to side. Tire perform ance
w ill be w eakened if rotated from side
to side.
