▼ Inspecting Power Steering Fluid
Level
As CAUTION
To avoid dam age to the pow er steering
pum p, d o n ’t operate the vehicle for
long periods w hen the pow er steering
fluid level is low.
N O TE
U se specified pow er steering fluid
(page 10-4).
Inspect the fluid level at each engine oil
change. A dd fluid if necessary; it does not
require periodic changing.
3. R em ove the filler cap and attached
dipstick.
4. W ipe them clean and put them back.
5. R em ove again and inspect the level.
6. It m ust be betw een H IG H and LOW.
A dd fluid if necessary.
D o n ’t o verfill.
If new fluid is required frequently, consult
an A uthorized M azda Dealer.
T he level m ust be kept betw een the H IG H
and LO W m arks.
V isually exam ine the lines and hoses for
leaks and dam age.
1. P ark on a level surface, w ell off the
right-of-w ay, and set the parking brake
firmly.
2. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool.
