Flat Tire
Changing a Flat Tire
N O T E
I f the follow ing o ccurs w hile driving, it
could indicate a flat tire.
• S teering becom es difficult.
• T he v ehicle begins to vibrate
excessively.
• T he v ehicle pulls in one direction.
I f you have a flat tire, drive slow ly to a
level spot that is w ell off the road and out
o f the w ay o f traffic to change the tire.
S topping in traffic or on the shoulder o f a
busy road is dangerous.

N O T E
M ake sure the jack is w ell lubricated
b efore using it.
1. P ark on a level surface off the right-of-
w ay and firm ly set the parking brake.
2. P u t a vehicle w ith an autom atic
transaxle in park (P), a m anual
transaxle in reverse (R), and turn off
the engine.
3. Turn on the hazard w arning flasher.
4. H ave everyone get out o f the vehicle
and aw ay from the vehicle and traffic.
5. R em ove the jack, tool, and spare tire
(page 7-3).
6. B lock the w heel diagonally opposite
the flat tire. W h en blocking a front
w heel, place the blo ck in front o f the
tire. W hen blocking a rear w heel, place
the block behind the tire.
