Warning/Indicator Lights and Beeps
▼ Brake System Warning Light

BRAKE
T his w arning has the follow ing functions:
P a r k in g b r a k e w a rn in g
The light com es on w hen the parking
brake is applied w ith the ignition sw itch
in the START o r O N positio n . It goes o ff
w hen the parking b rake is fully released.
L o w b r a k e flu id level w a rn in g
If the light stays on after the p arking brake
is fully released, you m ay have a brake
problem .
D rive to the side o f the ro a d and park off
the right-of-w ay.
You m ay notice that the pedal is harder to
push or that it m ay go closer to the floor.
In e ither case, it w ill take longer to stop
the vehicle.
1. W ith the engine stopped, c heck the
brake fluid level im m ediately and add
fluid as required (page 8-15).
2. A fter adding fluid, check the light
again.
If the w arning light rem ains on, or if the
brakes do n o t operate properly, do not
drive the vehicle. H ave it tow ed to an
A uthorized M azda Dealer.
E ven if the light goes off, have y o u r brake
system inspected as soon as possible.

B rake W arning Light:

com pletely fa il a t an y tim e. I f this
ligh t rem ain s o n , h ave the brakes
in spected im m ediately. D o n ’t drive
with this lig h t o n , a n d co n ta ct an
A u th orized M azda D ea ler to have the
brakes in spected a s soon a s possible.
▼ Seat Belt Warning Light/Beep
If the driver’s seat b e lt is not fastened
w hen the ignition sw itch is turned to the
O N position, a beep w ill sound for about
6 seconds and the seat belt w arning light
w ill rem ain on un til the belt is fastened.
If the system does n ot operate correctly,
consult an A uthorized M azda D ealer.
