DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
(see AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZI-3.5] .)
CAUTION:
z
Disconnecting/connecting quick release connector without
cleaning it may cause damage to fuel pipe and quick release
connector. Always clean quick release connector joint area before
disconnecting/connecting, and make sure that it is free of foreign
material.
STEP INSPECTION
RESULTS ACTION

Warm up the engine.
Idle the engine for
5 min.
Is the symptom disappeared?
Yes
Troubleshooting completed. (Cause of
this symptom is that the idle learning of
electronic throttle control system is not
completed.)
No
Go to the next step.

Verify the following:
z
External fuel shut off or
accessory (such as kill switch,
alarm)
z
Fuel quality (such as proper
octane, contamination,
winter/summer blend)
z
No air leakage from intake-air
system
z
Proper sealing of intake
manifold and components
attached to intake manifold
z
Ignition wiring
z
Electrical connections
z
Fuses
z
Smooth operation of throttle
valve
z
PCM GND circuit (1D, 1J, 1BP,
1BK).
Are all items normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Service if necessary.
Repeat Step 2.
3
Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
Yes
DTC is displayed:
Go to the appropriate DTC inspection.
