Inform customer that if the law in the
state requires additional driving in order
to clear DTC P1000 from the PCM
memory, it must be performed before an
inspection maintenance test.

P1001 indicates any of the following

Unable to access Continuous Memory DTCs.
z
Unable to activate KOEO or KOER Self-Test.
z
M-MDS tester communication problem.
z
DTC displayed by M-MDS tester not listed.
z
KOER Self-Test cannot be completed.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
z
Damaged DLC-2.
z
Incorrect Self-Test procedure.
z
VREF is not in specification.
z
Idle RPM out of specification.
z
Open in DLC-2 wiring harness circuit.
z
Short in DLC-2 circuit or associated modules.
z
Damaged PCM power relay circuit
