Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

A Hall-type APP

sensor has been introduced. For safety reasons the APP sensor

consists of two Hall elements integrated in the stator and a magnetic rotor joint to the
accelerator pedal.

NOTE:

If one Hall-type sensor fails, the PCM uses the signal from the other sensor to detect

the driver’s acceleration demand. As a result, the engine speed is limited to approx.
2500 min
