TRACK

To assemble: working on a hard, flat sur-
face, push ends of track sections together.
Tracks should snap together. The locking
tabs should not be recessed.

To take track apart, push down to release
tabs. Now pull track apart carefully. DO
NOT twist, pry or bend track.

To secure each section, make sure tabs on
underside are snapped together tightly. If
track is not properly connected, electrical
power will not flow to the next section.

To test track connection, hold car on track
while lifting rear tires. Squeeze hand
controller: tires should spin. If not, track is
not properly connected.

II

CLEANING TRACK

Clean track is IMPORTANT for best  perfor-
mance! Always clean track before racing.

Dirty track may cause car to stall. Give car
a slight push to get going again. After
3-4 laps car will run properly.

Oxidation on track rails may cause car to

stall. Remove oxidation using supplied sand-
paper. GENTLY rub track rails. Don’t rub hard
– rails are clean when they’re shiny. After
cleaning, wipe track with a soft, clean, lint-free
cloth to remove residue (don’t use tissue or
paper towels).  NEVER use steel wool to clean
track: severe damage can result if magnets in
car motor pick up steel wool fiber.

III

POWER CONNECTION

Never leave vehicles on track, or Power Pack
plugged in, when not in use.

Plug Power Pack into wall outlet. Next, plug
red plug into red receptacle on terminal track.
Then plug yellow hand controllers into yellow
receptacles on terminal track. The hand
controller is the “throttle.” Squeeze trigger to
go faster. Practice at slow speed for a few
laps, until you’re ready to race!

MAINTENANCE

Do not clean with liquids.

Cleaning Tires
Dirty tires can cause car to lose traction
and spin. To clean, roll rear tires across
sticky side of a piece of adhesive tape.

Cleaning Axle
Lint around axles may cause car to run
slowly. Use tweezers or a toothpick to
remove lint.

Cleaning Contacts
Regularly clean contacts to remove
oxidation. Using a pencil eraser, as shown,
carefully scrub contacts. Do not apply too
much pressure. DO NOT USE STEEL
WOOL. Worn-out contacts can be replaced.

Axle Alignment
Axle assembly may become “dislocated”
from the chassis after a sudden impact.
Using your fingers, snap assembly back
into chassis.

Chassis Alignment
Check position of car body to make sure it
is properly aligned and not rubbing against
tires. If necessary, carefully snap chassis
back onto body tabs.

ACCESSORIES

Accessories and quantities vary in each set.

Guardrails help keep car from spinning off
on curves. They also add support for long
“overpasses.”

Carefully attach bottom of guardrail first.
DO NOT force into place.

Pull up and snap into place. Some race
sets include special cardboard panels. Refer
to layout sheet for assembly instructions.

Flag/Label Sheet

Flagpole Sets

Carefully separate flagpoles. Peel flag from
label sheet and wrap around pole. Insert
flagpole into guardrail.

Supports are used to elevate track section
crosses over another. Please refer to layout
sheet for proper size and location.

To assemble support: separate pieces as
shown and remove connectors.

Next, fit pieces together as shown, and
insert support into round hole on under-
side of track.

Special struts are used to support elevated
track sections. Attach bottom of strut first,
then pull up and snap into place.

TIPS& HINTS

• Always race on a clean, hard, flat

surface (not carpeting).

• Clean track is IMPORTANT for best

performance! [II,

]

• Races are won in the curves! Slow down

before curves.

• Anyone can be a “pro” racer – the secret is

practice! Remember to “break in” your new
cars with a few “qualifying” laps. Cars
always run better after they’ve “warmed up.”

• Due to the speed and power of these vehi-

cles some radio interference may occur dur-
ing operation. You may need to find a differ-
ent location to race to avoid interference.

• All "pro" racers know that maintenance is

important. Read and follow Section V.

• If you have questions or difficulty, check the

Troubleshooting Chart first. Usually a quick
“pit stop” will get you racing again!

SPECIAL NOTE TO ADULTS:
Always make sure your Race Set is
unplugged before assembling or
disassembling track. Always unplug Power
Pack when not in use. Regularly examine for
damage to the cord, plug, enclosure and
other parts. In the event of any damage, this
toy must not be used with the transformer
until the damage has been repaired. Do not
connect to more than the recommended
number of power supplies. If this toy is being
operated in the presence of children under 8
years old, adult supervision is recommended.
This toy is not intended for children under 8
years old. This toy must be used only with the
