Connect the VIP ribbon cable to your Matrox display card
Connect the VIP ribbon cable to your Matrox display card
The supplied VIP (Video Input Port) ribbon cable connects your MAX
card to your Matrox G400, G450, or G550 display card. This connection
provides you with higher quality video on your computer.
Since the connector pins on the Matrox G400 card are
reversed
compared
to those on the G450 or G550 card (as shown below), you must twist the
ribbon cable a full 180 degrees to make a proper connection.
An easy way to ensure the cable is properly aligned with the connector
pins on your display card is to check the red edge of the ribbon cable.
When you connect your MAX card to a G400 card, the red edge of the
ribbon cable should be aligned with the edge of the connector that’s
furthest from the card bracket of the G400 card. When you connect your
MAX card to a G450 or G550 card, the red edge of the ribbon cable should
be aligned with the edge of the connector that’s closest to the card bracket
of the G450 or G550 card.
