8.2 Configuration Commands
GPS TIME SYNC UNIT MC-1-DE serial terminal can be used for configuring communication pa-
rameters of serial port settings for serial terminal, output time string format (T-format / NGTS/ NMEA)
on Serial terminal , time display format, general parameters settings, time zone offset, password,
standard and additional event time outputs, antenna cable propagation delay, defaulting Ethernet port
addresses.
All commands types are mentioned as subtitle name in below descriptions.
8.2.1 General Commands:
8.2.1.1 Command: CONFIG
This command lets the user to enter in the configuration mode. After giving command ‘CONFIG’ and
pressing Enter key, unit will stop the transmitting serial time output on serial port and unit will ask the
user to enter the password on HyperTerminal, as shown below:

8.2.1.2 Message: ENTER PASSWORD
There are two passwords for GPS TIME SYNC UNIT MC-1-DE. One is user-defined password, which
can be changed by the user through password configuration command and other is master password
which cannot be configured or visualize in menu settings. User defined password factory set is
‘MASIBUS’. If user changes the user password by configuration command, user has to enter new
password instead of factory set password.
If user changes the user password by configuration command, factory set password will change from
‘MASIBUS’ to the new password entered. User has to remember if the new password is configured
by user as there is no option to read the set password.
There is inbuilt factory Password which cannot be changed by user. Please contact Masibus Cus-
tomer Service department if user forgets their own set password. Unit will enter the configuration
mode if correct password is typed and then press Enter. If User enters correct password, below mes-
sages will be seen.

Only after user successfully entering configuration mode as show in above messages, user can now
provide other commands for device configuration.
If the entered password is wrong, the following message will be displayed:
