Body Surface Area (BSA)
After calculating BMI, you can then
calculate BSA. After going through the
first four steps on the previous page
steps to calculate BMI, press TARE/BSA
and Body Surface Area will be
displayed.
Tare Function
Place the item/s you wish to deduct
from the reading (such as a pair of
shoes) on the scale and press
TARE/BSA.
Remove the item/s, and the scale will
show a minus reading.
Weigh the patient as normal and the
negative weight reading will be
deducted from the total weight.
