Earthing the truck crane
The truck crane may in particular become charged with static electricity when
using outrigger pads made of synthetic material or when the outrigger pads are
packed with insulating material (e.g. wooden planks).
When earthing, ensure that the connection between the truck crane and the
ground is a perfect, electrically conductive connection.
Only attach the earth cable to the truck crane at the welded-on parts. Do not at-
tach the cable to parts that are screwed on (e.g. valves, cover plates, motors or
transmissions)!
4.7.3
Crane operation in the vicinity of power lines
Crane operation in the vicinity of power lines is dangerous and requires
special safety precautions!
Always observe the regulations in the country in which you are working when
working in the vicinity of power lines.
The truck crane is not insulated. If parts of the truck crane, the load, the lifting
tackle or the guide ropes touch a power line this will cause serious injury or even
death.
Before starting work, ask all persons not to touch your truck crane and the load
when working near power lines.
If there are power lines within the working range of the truck crane, have these
lines disconnected from the power supply if possible.
If it is not possible to disconnect the line from the power supply, then ask the
relevant electricity company for the current, electrical voltage of the power line.
Depending on the level of the electrical voltage and specific national regulations,
various safe distances are recommended that you must at least observe. Cordon
off the required area.
Observe the corresponding information in the supplied
operating manual
