5.3 Ignition
Sequence
Step 1
Turn on the Gas Supply Valve
Rotate the shutoff valve until the handle is aligned with the
supply pipe.
(The manual shutoff valve is located where the gas supply
enters the dryer.)
Step 2
Release the red EMERGENCY STOP (9) Button on the Control Panel
If all the steps were followed in shutting down the dryer—or if the dryer was shut down with the
EMERGENCY STOP
button—the button will be in the activated (IN) position.
Turn the
EMERGENCY STOP
button clockwise to reset it to the operating position.
(During normal operation, the
EMERGENCY STOP
button will be in the deactivated (OUT) position.)
Step 3
Push the green
START DRYER ON
button to turn on the dryer and activate the main blower, the
exhaust blower, and the Conveyor Belt.
The
START DRYER ON
button lights up when pressed, confirming that electrical power is on.
Step 4
Push the green
BURNER OPERATION ON
button (6). The button will light up, confirming that
electrical power is being supplied to the flame control system. At the same time, the
PURGE
light (4)
will turn on and remain illuminated during the sixty-second purge cycle. At the end of the purge
cycle, the
BURNER OPERATION PURGE
light turns off automatically, and the green
BURNER
OPERATION MAIN
light (5) turns on, confirming that the burner has ignited.
Failure to Ignite
The burner has ten seconds to ignite after the
BURNER OPERATION MAIN
light turns on. If the
burner fails to ignite within that time, (a) the Burner Operation sequence stops, (b) the
BURNER
OPERATION MAIN
light turns off, (c) the
FAILURE
light (12) turns on, and (d) the alarm (10)
activates.
Press the
BURNER OPERATION OFF
button (7) to deactivate the
FAILURE
light (12) and alarm
(10).
